Understanding of Eternal Security is Required for Eternal Life

Understanding of Eternal Security is Required for Eternal Life

Point #1

God will not certainly give you a Cadillac when you trust in Jesus for a Cadillac…

God will not certainly give you a G6 Private Jet when you trust in Jesus for a G6 Private Jet...

I hope you would all agree!

But why wouldn’t He?

Precisely for the reason that He doesn’t promise or guarantee you those things when you trust in Jesus for them.

Point #2

If you would agree with me on these 2 assertions above, logically you would have to believe this:

God will not give salvation that can be lost (in other words Arminian style salvation), a salvation that you actually have to work for and persevere in faithfulness to finally achieve, to the person who trusts in Jesus for Arminian Salvation.

Why not? As someone said, “It ain’t on the menu!”… God doesn’t promise Arminian Salvation to the one who trusts in Jesus for Arminian Salvation. Arminian Salvation “ain’t on the menu!”

Point #3

Let me take this logically to the next step.

Will God give you eternal life if you trust in Jesus for a Cadillac or a G6 Private Jet?

You of course would say no. But why would you say yes to the following?

Will God give you eternal life ( = eternal security) if you trust in Jesus to give you a salvation that can be lost (in other words Arminian style salvation), a salvation that you actually have to work for and persevere in faithfulness to finally achieve?

If you answered no to the question directly preceding this one, you would have to logically say no to this question, because they pose the same scenario: seeking God for things that He doesn’t promise or guarantee.

Conclusion

That is why it is important that people understand what God actually offers, what the good news ACTUALLY is. And the good news is this: that whosoever believes in Him has eternal life and will not perish. The good news = eternal security.

Eternal Security is what needs to be known and must consciously be the purpose that people trust in Jesus for.

Final Word

If believing in Jesus for a Cadillac won’t net a Cadillac or eternal life..

Then believing in Jesus for Arminian Salvation (something less than eternal security) won’t net Arminian Salvation or eternal life.

Seems like air-tight logic.
